New York MET Free Summer Opera Series

Performers for the Metropolitan Opera will head outdoors for the free Summer Recital Series on six nights in July and August.

The series will begin July 25 in Central Park with performances by soprano Danielle de Niese, bass-baritone John Del Carlo and tenor Dimitri Pittas.

During the series, various arias and duets will be performed from several operas as well as selections from the American Songbook. No tickets are required for any of the performances.

The Summer Recital Series is supported with public funds from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the City Council and Department of Parks and Recreation. Private funding comes from the Robert Wood Johnson, Jr. Charitable Trust’s Met Parks Concert Fund and The Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation.
